Project story ยท Layan Beach, Phuket
Chom Tawan Villa
A deteriorated timber pool deck replaced with a steel-supported composite construction selected for a demanding poolside environment.
The project
A renewed deck built from the supporting structure upward.
Greystone's project record identifies deteriorated timber in the existing pool deck. The affected boards were removed so the supporting construction could be exposed and renewed.
New steel joists supported OPC composite boards, creating a replacement deck system selected for durability in the poolside setting. The surface was then completed with primer and three recorded RTB finish coats.
Recorded approach
Replace the failing material and rebuild the complete deck system.
The work joined structural renewal, new deck boards and the final protective finish in one coordinated refurbishment.
Remove deteriorated timber
The rotten pool-deck timber was taken out to expose the existing supports and the areas requiring replacement.
Install new steel joists
A new steel supporting structure was fitted before the replacement deck surface was installed.
Board and finish
OPC composite boards were installed and completed with primer and three recorded RTB finish coats.
